Steel water tanks

Two steel water tanks were installed in a greenhouse complex where tomatoes and cucumbers are grown. The highest water tank has a height of 4.56 meters and a diameter of approximately 3.5 meters. This main water tank serves as the main water supply for feeding the irrigation system. The tank ensures optimal irrigation of the crops in the greenhouses. The lower water tank has a height of 2.29 meters and a diameter of approximately 2.5 meters. This tank functions as a buffer tank. This offers flexibility in the system and ensures that there is always sufficient water available.

Greenhouses in South Korea

Our dealer is a glasshouse construction company with more than 30 years of experience in greenhouse turnkey construction. In South Korea, a lot of food is imported due to the climate and mountainous landscape. South-Korea aims to become more self-sufficient and that is why the country is taking steps to modernize the horticultural sector. More and more high-tech greenhouses are being built. Vegetables that are grown in greenhouses include tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, cucumbers and leafy greens.

Anti algae covers

The water tanks are covered with an anti-algae cover. These anti-algae covers are made of 210 grammes woven geotextile with a reinforced edge and stainless steel eyelets. This cover helps to reduce algae growth in the water, keeping the water clean for irrigation. A cover also minimizes water evaporation, helping to maintain water levels, and prevents dirt from entering the tank. A greenhouse is obviously a clean environment, so not much dirt will end up in the tank. However, we still advise to place a cover, ensuring that the water remains as clean as possible.
