Rainwater harvesting for a factory, Poland

Process water in industries

In industries, large quantities of water are used for several processes in the manufacturing process, including water treatment, cooling, flushing and cleaning. To reduce its reliance on external water sources, a manufacturing facility in South Poland installed through our dealer an NPI water tank to store rainwater from the factory’s rooftops. Through gutter systems, the rainwater is led to this 100 m³ storage tank.

Rainwater harvesting

Worldwide, more and more industries implement systems to capture and store rainwater, sometimes driven by local regulations and sometimes because industries aim to become greener. Climate changes cause water scarcity to be bigger than ever, and we all need to take action. In Poland, water resources are scarce compared to other countries and hence, rainwater harvesting is an essential practice that should be implemented on a larger scale. Rainwater falls regularly in Poland, is often of good quality and it is free. Capturing it ensures that industries are less dependent on groundwater or surface water.

Steel water tank

We produce our water tanks in more than 400 standard sizes, and this is why the water tanks fit very different-sized facilities. This Polish factory installed the water tank outdoors and opted for a water tank with a height of 1.52 meters and a diameter of 9.14 meters. As lining material, ENPEX FPP 0.75 was applied, and a minimum sheet thickness of 1.00 mm was chosen for the metal panels, in both cases our most robust and highest quality version. For an extra long lifespan!
