Water storage for fire safety at a logistics center, Uruguay

At logistics centers, it is often mandatory to have on-site water stored for fire emergencies. Having stored water ensures immediate access when needed, which is critical when large volumes of goods and containers are stored and transshipped. This logistics center in Uruguay opted for a steel water storage tank on-site, installed by our Uruguayan dealer.

The customer chose an NPI water tank with a diameter of 8.23 meters and a height of 3.81 meters. The bottom ring of the tank was ordered with a coating to provide extra protection for the steel. This is especially important for the bottom ring, as it is the part that comes into contact with the ground and might therefore be a vulnerable point.

The water tank was lined with our premium lining material, ENPEX FPP. A tensioned anti-algae cover was also installed, to maintain water quality. Additionally, the customer equipped the water tank with fire hydrant connections to enhance its suitability for fire protection. Our water tanks are modular, allowing customers the flexibility to add their own components tailored for firefighting, such as overflow systems, level monitoring systems, access ladders and various connections, including fire hydrants.
