Greenhouses for flowers
In Lintao County, in the Chinese province of Gansu, a flower grower needed reliable water storage inside several greenhouses. The company cultivates Phalaenopsis orchids and cut roses, crops that depend on a steady supply of clean water. The grower looked for a practical way to store large volumes of water.
Why steel tanks?
The customer chose steel water tanks because they offer a simple and cost‑effective solution. They provide large capacity, can be installed quickly and fit well inside their greenhouses. The water used in the tanks comes from deep wells and is mixed with agricultural nutrients before being distributed to the crops.
Different water tank sizes
NPI supplied several tanks in three phases, each with different dimensions to match the available space. The delivery included two tanks with a diameter of 7.32 metres and a height of 4.57 metres, four tanks of 7.32 metres by 3.05 metres, and two tanks of 6.40 metres by 3.05 metres. All tanks were installed inside the greenhouses. Each tank was equipped with a liner in which we installed prefab outlets. All tanks were finished with tensioned anti‑algae covers to keep the water clean.
Supporting daily irrigation
With these tanks in place, the grower now has stable storage for nutrient solution throughout the day. The system supports continuous irrigation and helps maintain consistent growing conditions for orchids and roses.
