Strawberries in South Korea
In South Korea, strawberries have surged in popularity over the past few years. Various strawberry varieties are cultivated, with the “Seolhyang” being the most sought-after. Traditionally, strawberries in South Korea have been grown in low-tech plastic greenhouses. However, there is now a growing shift toward mid-tech and high-tech greenhouses as the horticulture industry modernizes. With certain strawberry varieties also gaining traction in Southeast Asia and Australia, growers are increasingly investing in advanced greenhouse technology to meet rising demand.
Control over water quality parameters
Through our dealer, who is a turnkey greenhouse builder, three NPI water storage tanks have been installed in this high-tech greenhouse complex where strawberries are cultivated. The availability of good-quality water is crucial for strawberry cultivation. With water stored in water tanks, this customer is ensured of a good water supply and has control over multiple water quality parameters.
The water tanks’ features
The water tanks are 4.56 meters high, which is a suitable height for storing a large amount of water while keeping the ground surface area limited. The bottom rings are coated for additional protection of the metal panels. The lower ring is partially buried, providing extra stability and security.
