Forest fire
Our water tanks are also used for firefighting, including in Portugal. As heat intensifies, the risk of forest fires increases. This water tank was itself a victim of a fire last year and the customer wanted to make sure that it would never happen again. The customer decided to install fire hose connections, to ensure the outflow system provides a higher flow rate to meet the demands of firefighting water tanks. This way, the customer is also showing commitment to the collective well-being, because he makes the water stored in the tank available to the public water point network. The adjusted outflow system guarantees that firefighters have quick and efficient access to water in the event of an emergency.
How did the water tank withstand the fire?
The marks on the water tank were caused in the fire, these are traces of the melted plastic. However, the steel withstood the fire greatly. The liner was damaged on the edges but still held the water fine. The water tank was in use until the day our dealer went there to replace the liner.
