Our dealer in the Philippines recently installed two NPI steel water tanks at a newly constructed barn. They are an organisation that produces organic milk and dairy products. At other locations they also produce all-organic vegetables, herbs, fruits and poultry products.
The barn
This dairy barn, opened last year, houses stalls for both cows and goats. It is a modern facility equipped with the latest innovations in barn design, milk equipment and technology. The focus is on, farm mechanization, sustainability, and resourcefulness. Cow comfort for instance, is really next level!
Water tanks
The team installed two water tanks of 50 m3, with each a diameter of 4,57 m and a height of 3,05 m. According to our dealer, it is a perfect size water tank for a medium scale dairy farm in the Philippines. One of the two tanks is used to store ground water and the other tank stores rainwater. For the barn, both ground and rainwater is used for drinking water and cleaning. To maintain the quality of the water, the water tanks are covered with a tensioned anti-algae cover.
Rainwater in the Philippines
The Philippines has a significant market potential for water storage due to its high annual precipitation. Currently, the agricultural sector is facing challenges from the El Niño phenomenon, expected to be followed by La Niña, bringing heavy rainfall at the archipelago. With our steel water tanks we help store and reuse water in the Philippines, offering a solution to address these climate-related challenges.
Not just a barn
And it is not just a barn, the facility intents to be a sign of progress for farmers and stakeholders in the region. It symbolises their commitment to advancing agricultural practices, particularly in the dairy and livestock sector. And as the barn opens its doors to new possibilities, they hope to ignite aspirations for similar projects throughout the island and surrounding islands.
